Well, my first experience with a game after installing it is scoping out achievements, content and any other things that grasp your eyes before clicking that big green play button and diving in. With Airplane Tycoon my eyes were greeted with a familiar hi-res photo and some clip art pasted on it. I recognized it because it was a wallpaper for the game Firewatch. So... stolen artwork before I even jump into the game, my hopes are not high. I enjoy management games that embody real life activities and jobs. Games like those, can become tedious, but usually you have a bit of learning and progressing before you start to stagger with your systems and engine building in place. The tutorial had consistency issues with naming of tabs you work with, and the tutorial dialog boxes, probably a translation discrepancy. This made figuring things out a little difficult. I would advise starting over once you have played the tutorial, because if you didn’t start over, you also face a gameplay wall of just looking at the clock in order to finish the first order, kind of a weird choice. There are so many things you are left to kind of figure out yourself. You get a report at the end of the day and the game does not pause but slows down, so look quickly! Also if you have any menus open in the game looking at stuff you own, can buy or items to ship, you can't control the time settings without exiting them. The game also referenced character needs and a lifebar, I have not seen anything like that. I have gone through several days and not come across any needs or indicators of these needs. So probably a future implementation??? I had to also download Access Database Engine 2010 in order to play the game. One time when I encountered a bug, I went to the main menu and the game was in a different language and had a different name in the corner than my own, which I assume is broken code from their identical first game. All of that kind of drives me away as a player, but the barrier of just waiting for the clock to hit a certain day to deliver isn't even guaranteed with no other tasks or things to do? I've had pilots and implements disappear or even shipments disappear and the plane is back in the hangar. I don't get the purpose other than getting money, but it feels like text menus being over complicated and saturated then leaving RNG to fill in the blanks, not exactly fun. This game has you constantly wait for deliveries to be done, if you made it that far. Decipher everything else out that the tutorial hasn't explained and figure out what isn’t actually a part of the game from the tutorial. Great idea but falling flat out of the gate. Airplane Tycoon is a very basic text based browser style game from the asset flippers at SoftWaves. They published this as "MegaSoft Games", but the smell of an asset flipper is so bad it leaves a tangible trail. Also, the UI is the same low quality one that SoftWaves have used on their other low effort shovelware. Shady developers aside, this is just a really sloppy browser tier business tycoon game, but without any interesting UI, you just click through HTML tier pages to pretend you're running an airline/air freight business. I've seen more interesting Excel spreadsheets. There's a cash grab price of $5 USD for this garbage. Give it a miss. If you want an airport management game, try Tower!3D Pro or Airport Simulator 2019.
The game freezes constantly. Open settings? 4 seconds. Save settings? At least 7 to 10 seconds (and you're not sure if the game completely froze or it just runs this way). Sometimes it opens my desktop or steam without me asking for it while the mouse cursor shows that it's thinking and the game runs in the background. It feels COMPLETELY like an alpha. Considering that it's basically a text game with some pictures, it should be flying. And yet. No ability to change resolution or the text size. My current resolution is 1920x1080 & yet I'm having trouble reading it, especially the tutorial. If it was 1440p? Even worse. About the gameplay: you really won't get more than you see on the screencaps. It's really boring for me & I had no interest in trying to get into the gameplay after the tutorial. It left me & I was like... nope, especially not with the freezing. It didn't seem like there is much to manage. Bought on sale and refunded.
So bad
If you are into a basic strategy game then I would recommend it. Look at the screen shots for the game, what you see is what you get. For the price point which at the time of this review under 5 dollars it has adequate game play. Not a game that would have a lot of replay ability. There is more they could of done with this game however I still enjoyed it.
game was pretty intresting
O jogo é para carga de caminhões, foi feita uma adaptação grosseira para aviões. Jogo muito simples meio sem graça, mas dá pra jogar uma vez ou outra.
The game is not that well made. It feels like a high schooler threw this together for a school project. The game only works on a day basis, but it has a timer going anyways. It has a ton of lag for opening some boxes for no reason. It also takes 30 mins or so before you can even start playing it. I was able to finish the game within 4 hours.
This game is pretty much shovelware. You could easily get the impression this is an indie developer, however they are the same exact studio as Softwaves, who have made at least two games that are the exact same UI and dynamics, but equally as dreadful according to the reviews. The UI is terrible, the tutorial not very helpful, takes ages to move between turns, the English is sometimes like it was written by a child with some bits in what appears to be French. Various game concepts are not explained, for example what "implements" are (pallets and dunnage maybe?) or about simple things such the relevancy of the tonnage and power. The speed at which each turns happen very slow considering what shouldn't even be complex calculations. When you load the game, the settings box appears, which freezes and causes the window to not respond if you click it too many times. The game may even crash from this. The summary box after the end of turn also loads dreadfully slowly. It's not even my PC either but very likely very bad coding. It's a shame really, the game has a lot of potential. It seems like a browser-style game, which is what it would be much better suited as! This has been on my wish list for a few years for some reason so bought it in the sale for a quid. The reviews were bad but thought I would give it a go. I should have listened to them as this was a complete waste of money! MegaSoft Games appears to be the same studio as Softwaves, Softwaves Mini, HandMade Games and GamesBraz, all of which produce similar shovelware and asset flipping games, many with the exact same fonts and style, as well as store page headers. The reviews of the many other games are very telling!
