Good game in Early Access. The price is right for what it is now. Needs more missions. Needs Overwatch command. Moves should be in two stages. Line of sight line to target(s) would be nice. Looking forward to more improvements. No bugs found.
This is kinda like XCOM for 12 year olds, but that said, it's not that bad for what it'll cost - under £5 at full price, and right now, it's on sale. The gunfire sound effects remind me of when you squeeze a plastic tomato sauce bottle over your chips, but if you are particularly fond of turn based combat games, then I'd say give it a try because with a good deal of polish, it could well improve. The current lack of an opportunity fire/overwatch option is a big drawback, and the fact that your squad members can be as close to enemies as if they were both in the same phone booth, yet can still miss with any weapon boiled my p*ss at times, but it's still a game in early access, so again - these things can maybe be added and improved upon I guess?? I have only played for 111 minutes so far, but unless these improvements can be implemented, then I kinda doubt that I'll come back to this one any time soon. 6/10 because of the low price, otherwise I'd have rated it at 5 in it's current state.

The description of 'X-COM for 12 year olds' isn't bad. The good: The character and weapon improvements seemed quite straightforward; it ran without any bugs for me, and while the graphics may look fairly standard/a bit basic, if you zoom in on the characters, the detail just keeps increasing the more you zoom (rather like Phoenix Point). I thought the lighting effects in some of the later night time mission were particularly good both in terms of lighting the area and the shadows cast by the characters. The echo type effects of some of the sounds in the sewer mission were another nice touch. The not so good: The animation is a little clunky and the soldiers when walking is a bit wooden, some of the graphics in the cut scene could be better, and the character voice-chat wasn't always relevant to what was happening (e.g. warnings etc. when instead you'd actually just found what you were looking for). As has also been said an overwatch function would be a good addition, and I found that grenades and exploding barrels didn't affect enemies on the 'diagonal', only on the spaces square on to the explosion. There's also a one shot kill effect in the sewers mission that seems rather imbalanced and in need of attention. Given that it's an early access, while there is room for improvement in a number of areas, it has some good points and nice touches that show promise so its worth a try if you can pick it up on sale.
