Age of Wonders 4

OVERPRICED, buy on sale cause this vanilla game makes me so sad

I played over 600 hours of Age of Wonders 3 on GOG, and I have to say that I think now Age of Wonders 4 is the better game. The level of customization is staggering. Initially, the "create your own fantasy race" didn't appeal to me, because I felt the races then lost their individuality. While some of that might still be true, I've warmed up to the concept and embraced it and now see that it makes for some incredible builds and stories. In the previous games for example, goblins would always be the cheap and swarm focused faction. Now, you can absolutely build a faction that follows that template, or you can turn it upside down and make them magically focused instead. The amount of player freedom to create what they want makes this a game I keep coming back to. One downside is the amount of DLC to get the complete experience. It's pretty pricey at this point, no doubt about it. However, the DLC policy also continues to support the fantastic Devs who are able to keep adding content and also add many free quality of life upgrades. The base game alone is a far better experience now than it was at launch. It's a fantastic entry in the franchise and I think well worth it at full price for the base game, but even more so when it goes on sale.

I thouth why not try it out. Its a middle class game, nothing special. Framerates are droping like crazy for no reason, crashing sometimes too (4090). If heroes had a child with baldurs gate, but it was from poor income country.
