Against the Storm

Negative reviews all around until steam lets me disable the "Would you recommend this game?" popup.

첨에 어렵고 이해 안가서 잘 안키게 됐는데 참고 몇번 해보니까 중독돼서 계속하게됨. 근데 한 판 하면 힘들어서 두 판 연속으로는 거의 못함. 하루에 한 판씩 잘 즐김.

This is literally my first review because I am too lazy to do it. However, I feel guilty to not leave a review to an awesome game like Against the Storm. GamePlay (5/5) - Original and creative mechanism that is unlike to any other games I played. Carefully designed and well balanced. This is rarely seen at this age. - the concept is simple but the strategies are deep especially at high difficulty level. - Roguelike makes each game unique. I played for years then dropped from time to time. Yet I still would like to have a game after a while. UI (5/5) - one of the best UIs. Full of information and easy to navigate. Art (5/5) - This is subjective but I personally like it very much. Quality (5/5) - I encounter no critical bugs or any glitches that have an negative impact to my game experience. Music (4/5) - Music is not the selling point of this game. It doesn't lower the score either. I like it. DLC/Updates (100/5) - When the game was released it was already a masterpiece in quality in my opinion. Nevertheless, the developers keep updating it by not only adding nice-to-have quality-of-life enhancements, but also creating new unique mechanisms over years. I appreciate it very much. The developer team have my full respect. I cannot recommend this game more. If you like strategy games, just buy it and try. 赞爆了！ 买就对了！

Against the Storm is the game I play whenever I don't know what to play and it never disappoints me. It's a fantastic strategy/resource management game masquerading as a city builder. Truly a unique experience that I've played on and off for years by now (Steam and elsewhere). What I haven't seen mentioned is the fact that Against the Storm is great with a controller and therefore on Steam Deck. It's rare to find complex strategy games that works well without a mouse and keyboard, but this one is really good. Sadly it must be said that is stutters - a lot - on Linux (not on Steam Deck though, from my experience). I hope this gets addressed because I really have an itch for more.

it's hard to put everything i like about this game into words, but if you struggle with city builders or RTS games due to perfectionism or annoyance at the idea of optimizing everything, this is the game for you. it starts out quite simple and slowly increases the amount of mechanics you're juggling, but also the tools offered to you. it's basically endlessly replayable, and my corsair keyboard lights up with a neat pattern based on the biome i'm in. so basically it's a perfect game

Me surpreendeu. É um jogo por partidas, onde o foco é completar missões da área e depois seguir para a próxima, então o foco não é exatamente construir uma metrópole. Você sai explorando, faz missões e depois recomeça tudo com aspectos diferentes. Adorei o sistema de raças com cada uma sendo especializada em algo, a arte é muito bonitinha, e a jogabilidade é bem intuitiva. A tela é meio poluída de informações, mas nada que prejudique.
