Peak base building and strategy
This is easily top 4 favourite games of all time for me. Just like the description says at the bottom, starting from the beginning is one of the best parts of city building. Planning out what things will go where. This game lets you do that over and over, with each settlement taking ~45 minutes to an hour. It's both perfect for people with little free time, and those with a lot. I picked it up on sale for $7.99CAD but in hindsight would absolutely pay full price. Purchasing the DLC isn't necessary, but I did to support the dev. Well worth it.
Run-based rouge-lite colony sim. You'd think that wouldn't work, and you'd be wrong.
This game is incredibly well executed. You should 100% give it a try.
Contrary to Lyrande (who wrote a review about the game's repetitiveness after just 6.6 hours), I don't think it is repetitive at all. The more you play, the better it gets. He hasn't even unlocked rainpunk at that point. Every village you start is completely different. At 12 hours in, I haven't experienced any repetition, but rather feel like I haven't seen most of what this game has to offer yet. Just wanted to offer a counter-perspective here. Don't hold back on buying if you're concerned about repetition. I might feel that way at 100+ hours, but definitely not at 6.6... (just read the review from Suspicious Hamburger) This game is gRReat!!
Really good game. I keep coming back. I generally don't care about city builders, but I enjoy this one. Plus the 20-40 minute segmentation is pretty good for a quick game after putting the kiddos to bed.
Excellent city builder at its core but the world map and upgrade screens are lacking. The magic lies in the city builder and facing off against the hostile environment. You can freeze your game to make stregic choices and while you cannot create saves, you can save and quit at any time.
I love the interesting challenges, and that it is time to reset before it gets too into the logistics of the town.
Stupid RNG game that is just not fun at all. In what world would this get an Overwhelmingly Positive rating? Oh yes, this stupid clown world. Highly recommend that you do not buy (I paid 9 bucks and still feel angry), but go ahead if you enjoy punching your own balls when the game continually c-blocks you by refusing to give you things that you need to proceed. Really dumb and stupid design imo.
