Just a mobile game through and through. You're only allowed to get roles from studios which are in your contact list, and at the beginning of the game you are only allowed to have one such contact no matter how your relationships are. The most such contacts you can get are around 3 even when you're built up, and you unlock that with money on a very, very simple tech tree setup. Once you've got a contact, each one offers no more than 1 movie per turn. That movie has a genre and 2 or 3 roles that you can send your actors to audition for. If your actress doesn't fit the genre, age, star rating (either too high OR too low) or any of the special requirement the movie has, you likely won't get the part and you'll stink at it even if you do get it. Now, actresses are handled the same way studios. At the beginning you can have no more than 1 actress, up to a max of 4. See the problem? With so few plugs and so few outlets, it's hard to get a role that really matches up with your actress so you're just clicking along hoping something good will come next turn. Note I said that your 'contact' studios offer no more than one movie. They can also offer 0 movies and do that quite often. You can also have 'contacts' as directors. What this seems to mean is that they'll randomly offer a role in a film they're working on to an actress. That's happened to me once in an hour and a half of play, which isn't much given the pace of the game. Eventually you'll have auditions and your talent will get roles. Once they do, they're out of commission for around 10-15 weeks, and for those turns there is nothing to do except attend parties, which improve your relationship with studios, talent, and directors. But there's no point in improving your relationship with them because you can't add them as contacts due to this stupid mechanic, and they are therefore worthless. If the world was different and you had more talent and options and weren't restricted by this limit of how many entities you can fit your phone book, I'd give this a lukewarm thumbs up - overly simple but not bad overall. But these artificial limits kill what enjoyment the game might have offered. I don't know why so many devs do things like this, it's like they can't help themselves.

For 2-3 $ (American dollars) this could be... a decent game. For the current price, I expect WAY more in terms of content...
I was pretty excited for this game because i was looking for a good replacement for Cattle Call: Hollywood Talent Manager (abandoned by maker). With this game you can do even less than cattle call. I miss the dept in this game. You can't even sent your actors on a course to learn skills. I was bored of Actor Tycoon 2 pretty quick.
---{Graphics}--- ☐ Top of the line ☐ Beautiful ☐ Pretty ✔️ Decent ☐ Previous gen graphics ☐ Terrible ☐ Graphics? What's that? ---{Gameplay}--- ☐ Extremely enjoyable ☐ Enjoyable ☐ Above average ☐ Average ✔️ Below average (Just slightly) ☐ Could be better ☐ Not enjoyable at all ---{Audio}--- ☐ High Quality / Great Soundtrack ☐ Good Quality / Enjoyable Soundtrack ☐ Above average ✔️ Average (Repeating BG music, but it's well looped, so not annoying) ☐ Below average ☐ Could be enjoyable ☐ Bad ---{Multiplayer}--- ☐ Good (Co-op, not MMO and so far not toxic) ☐ Decent ☐ Terrible ✔️N/A ---{Microtransactions}--- ☐ Lootboxes and/or P2W. (Not even paid DLC!) ---{Audience}--- ☐ Kids ☐ Teens ☐ Adults ✔️ All ---{PC Requirements}--- ☐ High End PC required ☐ Recommended on a high end PC ☐ Mid-range PC ☐ Mid-range laptop playable ☐ Budget PC playable (Such a stunning game, it's surprising it can run on budget PC's too!) ✔️ Chromebook could possibly handle this ---{Difficulty}--- ☐ Walk in the park ✔️ Casual ☐ Fairly easy ☐ Could be a challenge for some ☐ You will die a few times ☐ Difficult ☐ Challenging ---{Story}--- ✔️ N/A ☐ minimal storytelling ☐ Environmental storytelling ☐ Decent ☐ Good ☐ Lot's of story ☐ It's like a book... But fun ---{Price}--- ☐ Worth it full price (Never thought i'd say this for NMS, but it's worth the full price) ☐ Worth it, but waiting for a discount is understandable ✔️ Wait for a sale ☐ Not worth the price ------------------------- So AT2 is not a bad game, it's also not a great game. It's extremely casual, it feels limited in a lot of ways, at first you see the world map, and you can only select a few countries to start in. I have no idea if you can unlock other places or not, as far as I could tell, travel isn't something that's possible. Actors can't be trained, it's very very confusing at times due to the fact that actors have specific genres that they're good at, but others they are slightly worse at. Example: Actor A has a green ball next to the genre of horror, and yellow next to comedy. You'd think it means he's great at horror and okay at comedy, but apparently it means he's okay at horror and doesn't want comedy? It's a bit confusing, I would've prefered a 1/5 or 1/10 system instead of colored balls to indicate interest of the actor and it's genre. Also, sometimes actors don't get the role because they don't have enough experience, it's unclear how much experience is needed, or how experienced an actor is at a specific genre, as apparently the stars don't indicate that. The game has potential, but at this price point and the things that you can do, I wouldn't buy full price yet. Sale would be fine, I feel like this game could go either way in terms of getting better or worse. I still recommend this game, because it's a genre type that I enjoy, I do wish there was more to do, because it can get boring really quickly. I wish there was a middle thumb when recommending this game, but I'll just say yes. Will keep an eye out for updates.
I'd call this a mobile game, but that almost seems generous. The gameplay is very, very shallow. There's no depth to your decision making, no advanced company management, no real meat to the game whatsoever. You feel extremely bottlenecked in the options available to you in terms of who you can work with, how you can work with them, and what sort of gigs you can help them find. There's no substance to character development, or growing skills, or managing your company. Film "contracts" are bland, and if you were a big fan of Cattle Call's lack of a search feature ... great news! Yeah, no search, no filter. But having said that, this game has so little substance it doesn't take long to get through the handful of table scraps available to your stars. The basic fundamentals of good management sims were ignored here. Tycoon gamers expect depthful gameplay. We need some degree of micromanagement to play around with. We don't want ridiculous, superfluous hard limits on gameplay that serve no purpose other than saving a developer a few hours. Why am I so limited in how many stars I can work with? Why are contracts so woefully simple? Why am I obnoxiously searching through script after script for a role that might not even be there? How am I running this talent agency without any employees? Honestly, this should be a freeware mobile game, if it needs to exist at all. This needs A LOT of work and a vast expansion of content before I'd consider playing it again. I regret having paid for it. If this game were free and you were getting it for a young child who wants to start playing management games, go for it. Paying money for this game is a mistake.
in the beginning i thought it would get more challenging later on... but after 2 hours it is simply boring. you start with 1 actor and as soon as that one is filming you dont have anything to do exept visit events each week, but those events are simply 2-3 clicks and the people you meet there are nearly always the same few ones. and the "work" wont change even after you get more actors i simply expected more. with this kind of gameplay i would have played it if it was a free game, but even then i would have deleted it very soon
Nice and casual tycoon game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QszVHbg5Hdg
I liked the game, I wanted more actors to manage and more gigs, but that's why you need to progress. I thought the achievements were good, and when my actors started getting drug problems, pregnant, thrown in jail, anorexia, paranoia, I started wondering not only who to fire, but also if this game counts as Managing Celebs experience for my resume. Deciding whether or not to tell someone to stop eating so much at the free buffet, or if you want to party with them were actually hard decisions, and some of these celebs dont want to hear it, they blow you off or make you get black out drunk, its a wild time. 2.5 hours went by fast, that's usually a good sign. TY.
