Acolyte: Prologue is the first act in a dynamic narrative detective/puzzle game that gives you your own Acolyte; a digital assistant you can talk to freely without pre-defined dialogue options. Just like a real conversation.

It really is a very nice game, I liked the fact that you had to go online and everything, trying to solve the situation. I would have liked it even more if Ana was even more AI like, the way in which a player can interact with Ana was very nice the answering of questions very real, I can see a future in which a real AI assistant is ever present.I would like this very much, especially when our sigh goes with age.
i played it all i have to say is it is so well done from having actual articles and actually getting rid of files. thats amazing gameplay in and of itself.
Amazing concept, super enthralling story and immersive experience, looking forward to the full release!

I don't recommend this game as is for fun, but I do recommend it to help the dev get more input so they can finish the game and make it better. If you're one for early access games, give this one a go because it's very promising. It's just not something I would play for fun in it's current state. I love the tasks that require you to interact with things outside of the game, such as
deleting a file from your steam games folder and looking up an actual website that has planted comments
. Those were very cool elements, and if the full game incorporates more of that, I would love to play it. I'm not sure if submitting bugs in game (as part of the gameplay mechanic) actually submits bugs to the dev, but if it does, that would be cool. However, my main issue with the game is that the core gameplay element, chatting with the AI, is extremely boring. She clearly runs off a script that reacts very little to what you say - most things I asked her that seemed pretty basic questions or follow up responses to something she said were either entirely ignored or misinterpreted. I couldn't even complete one of my assigned tasks, because
she never recognized a haiku I made and couldn't even tell me what a haiku was, never mind creating one in response to a direct request from me for her to do so
. Perhaps this is supposed to happen, but I'm not sure. It made progressing the story a bit of a chore, because I just had to wait until something triggered the AI, and she was triggered so often, even for minor "mandatory" conversations, I couldn't get to my other tasks. Talking with the AI was just frustrating and boring. If this mechanic got better, I would be interested in playing the full game, but as it stands, I have no interest.
I'm really looking forward to the full release. This was an enjoyable demo.
