I've owned the acid series since 2.0 and highly recommend it always.
Good software
Top! Upgrades wären cool!
40 year drummer here. I first saw ACID at E3 in 1998 and it melted my brain: drag-and-drop loops onto a multi-track timeline, then slice, slide, fade, copy, paste—instant arrangement, zero friction. I remember thinking, this is the next generation of music creation. Fast-forward to 2026: I’m still using ACID Music Studio for YouTube soundtracks and other projects because it still nails what most DAWs forget... Momentum. It gets ideas out of your head and into a finished arrangement fast, without feeling like paint-by-numbers. The workflow stays musical, the editing stays immediate, and experimentation feels natural instead of technical. ACID has evolved since the early days, but it didn’t lose the point: make creating feel fun and faster than you think. If you want a loop-friendly studio that actually delivers results (not endless menu-diving), this is the real deal.
I have used this program to edit a variety of different things, ranging from podcasts to internet ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. However, when I originally bought this program, I had the intention of using it to help record music - ironically recording music is by far the weakest part of this program. As a music program that is marketed as a complete package, it is repulsive to have it NOT have input monitoring. The loops aren't bad (once you go through the heckhole of finding them), and since it was advertised towards remixing, I guess it's on me to have seen this one coming. ( TLDR , THIS IS FOR REMIXING MUSIC ^ ) With the negatives out of the way, The program features quite a lot of effects and control over mixing audio, and the ease of use is something I genuinely enjoy. Overall, I think it's worth it since I bought it off of a good bundle sale alongside vegas, soundforge (which has input monitoring) and this. Don't buy it full price, but if it's on sale, I'd recommend you try it out
