Help! I'm Stuck! - 10/10 Ah, the pièce de résistance getting stuck! Achromira excels in this department. It's like the game designers conspired to make sure you never see the light of day again. But fret not, because being stuck in Achromira is like being stuck in a stand-up comedy show you'll laugh so hard at your predicament that you won't even care about escaping. no just kidding it just tried to get stuck, overall the game is nice

"Achromira" is a demo project from a fledgling, failed attempt to make a game development studio. The developers made a yawnfest of a third person platformer with clunky, unpolished controls and a visual aesthetic stolen directly from Tron. Not the Tron with Jeff Bridges and Bruce Boxleitner in it, but the new Tron: Legacy film. Except that had Jeff and Bruce in it, so I guess that was a bad explanation on my part. Anyway, creatively defunct visuals of very poor quality. And zero polish. I definitely didn't mean the Tron film with Jared Leto in it, did anyone even watch that? What do you do in the game? Some of the worst third person platforming I've seen in a long time... student projects from Digipen do better at it. Despite not being in Early Access, it's obvious this is an incomplete product. Developers have an obligation to deliver complete, not partially done products to gamers, that shouldn't be controversial. Whatever the excuses may be, it does no service to gamers for incomplete products polluting Steam like this. It makes it harder for gamers to find complete games, and it makes it harder for ethical developers who do the right thing to find their audience. The graphics aren't great, low poly, mismatched game assets... jarringly mismatched, but I still don't think it's an asset flip, I think they had different artists just go work on their own models without looking at what each other artist is doing. That's understandably a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve better than compromises. Visually, the game looks pretty bad (and decent visuals are a must, gaming is a visual medium), we can be sure this is not an asset flip. This is because the game assets look so bad, no self respecting asset creator would publish them. That's a fail. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets of any level of quality usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. A peak of 10 concurrent players (according to SteamDB) for a "free" game is a disastrous public reception. Out of 130 million potential players here on Steam, almost nobody was interested. Even though this is "free". That level of rejection speaks a lot for the quality of the game. Given that this free game won't increase your game collector count, is it worth your time to add it to your library? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.
