All hail our robot overloads and masters!!! I felt a bit sorry for the titular Abe, until he got all vivisectionist on me. So the moral of the story is that when we eventually all buy household helper robots, try not to tick them off too much or be too obvious about wanting to turn them off or trade them in for a new one. Best case scenario it all goes a bit Detroit: Become Human or worst case you end up getting strapped to a workbench in your garage while the robot that used to cook and serve your noodles turns all amateur brain surgeon and starts scooping your noodles out. Yes, It's sort of unsettling, creepy, unpleasant "fun" for a few minutes but there is no gameplay/replay value as such. But it costs nought so no harm done to the wallet. Played with an HP Reverb and RTX 3070. Seemed OK but I can't help but feel it was built for some other system.
Mediocre robot has a copium deficiency and decides to do a little murder about it. The VR didn't add anything since you're restrained for the whole 10 minute experience. 48/100
Abe VR is a short horror film experience that is completely free. It is an intense experience where you witness a misguided and psyocitic robot who is on a mission for unconditional love from humans. This is an experience that was released in June 2016. Does it still hold up? This short horror film can be quite intense at a few moments in the robots monologue. There is no interaction but it can be a nice free way to see how you deal with horror films in VR and a good way to get your heart pumping.
