A Land Fit for Heroes is a profound story of three distinct characters falling into a sequence of bloodthirsty events full of gore and mystery. It is not your average story-based RPG; A Land Fit for Heroes is darker, deeper and very explicit, primarily it’s narrative is targeted towards a mature audience.

This is a great experience - IF you don't mind a mostly text-based, story-driven RPG with only periodic visuals, basically only when exploring a specific dungeon, picking a lock, disabling a trap or while in combat. Combat is relatively slow, but then again it is turn-based and it's not a game to rush through anyway. There may still be a bug or a glitch here or there, but from my own experience I can say that reporting it in the forums has them looking into it and fixing it pretty quickly. Just take the time to think about how to create and/or level your character and explore everything, as you CAN end-up dead-ending with the wrong build or by missing crucial plot-items (and the game DOES warn you beforehand). To me, it almost felt like playing a pen-and-paper-RPG on my own,
A Land Fit For Heroes Review
A Land Fit For Heroes is a small gamebook that is filled with frustration! Cool concept, you enjoy a really good story but you also play! As you advance, you gather items. How cool is that! + Pros

The story is really good.
The gamebook has really good soundtracks.
The graphics are okayish
Combat is p&p RPG style. Its good for a title like this.
Really enjoyed the diversity of games (riddles, mini games and more)
 - Cons

To save your bookmarks, you need to register to the company's database.
No achievements... No trading cards as well.
I lost several of my save files.. Not cool..
the game is buggy... many many bugs killing the hype...
Overall, it's an entertaining dark fantasy story. And I totally recommend it. Incredibly buggy have had to restart 3-6 times because of broken links. Do not recommend.

This is a great Story-driven game, with a capital “S”. The characterization is deep, the story is well worth to read. It’s like a gory, dark, cruel fantasy book with all the naked realities of this gritty genre. The protagonists are all seriously damaged, thanks to war, childhood abuses, the cruelties of the street. The storyline is disturbing sometimes, it really gets under your skin and you end up grinding your teeth and wanting revenge. The gameplay is nicely composed one: you read the pages, you make choices and those choices affect the current or some future pages. As you advance, you gather items, information, you learn how to cast spells, solve some minigames, riddles and anagrams. Combat is pen-and-paper RPG style, turn-based and depicted on a grid. I really liked it, though endless dicerolling can be irritating after a while. If you equip yourself adequately and choose the right strategy (dance away, attack, defend yourself), utilize the right Feats (little combat boosters active for a round), combat becomes a very enjoyable thing. With the recently added offline save option even account creation can be saved, but of course if you’d like to play multiplayer game (which is fun, like play-by-mail RPG in the old days, only on your PC with chat, info exchange, joined combats) you’ll need a username and password. I’m curious about the future improvements of the game, like adding Steam Achievements and Trading Cards, as well as making the combat even more diverse with objects on the battlegrid, for example.
E' un gioco bruttissimo (sempre se lo si puo considerare un gioco). non ha un obiettivo e non e una storia Voto2/10
A good story based game, an option for it to readit might be nice addition but isn't necessary.
So buggy, I could not even find out how to move ahead. The menu was not responsive.
A Land Fit For Heroes is an attempt at creating a Final Fantasy like RPG gamebook, but with terrible writing and a clunky, unworkable and generally unpleasant combat system. The PC is capable of far better, of course (like... actual RPG video games). The implementation is buggy and many who tried to play the game report that it doesn't launch properly and gets stuck at certain points due to clunky implementation and lack of testing. Buyer beware, as always. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. Problematically, the user interface for this game is just a 2D text heavy panel with a few static images... it might as well be a browser game. And we all know, Steam isn't here to compete with Chrome and Firefox. If the game can be done in a web browser, it's just not rich or compelling enough to appeal to serious gamers. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected in the general public reception. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the game only ever reached a peak player count of only 8 players. That's right, only 8. This is a pitiful enough number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam, the overwhelming lack of interest in the game is remarkable, but also to be expected. This complete and utter rejection of the game from gamers should be a keen information point for anyone considering buying shovelware like this. Gamers just didn't take this seriously, and for good reason. Even after all this you decide you want the game, you might not be able to get it as the developers seem to have removed it from every region (while somehow keeping it listed on the store). Weird. Anyway, this is somewhat broken garbage.
