Tha game itself is okay, the gameplay is simple but enjoyable. BUT: the game crashes a LOT, even on lower settings. And the graphics were freaking out the whole time i played. I had grass doing disco lights, stuff glitching out etc.
Horrendous navigation mechanics !!!
I just want to chill out looking for the different items by moving the butterfly over the pretty landscape. The controls are absolutely horrible !!! This could have been a lovely experience, very disappointed.
I really wanted to like this game. The idea of flying around as a butterfly in a beautiful environment, and taking photographs of animals intrigued me. However, A Butterfly's Dream has the worst game mechanics I've ever experienced. First of all, movement is agonizingly slow, unprecise, and not at all smooth. Trying to direct the butterfly to where you want it to go is an exercise that requires extreme patience and the results are usually poor. When you're trying to get close to something or land on or near something, the butterfly often gets pulled to the left or right, up or down, inside of a rock or wall, or underground. Clipping is a huge problem. This is not a finished game, and if the devs think it is, then they have very low standards for what a well-honed, enjoyable game should be. I know the game is cheap, however, it shouldn't even exist. It's a waste of time and money. I requested a refund. $1.49 is even too much for the frustration and time wasted on this lousy effort.
Gostei! Uma experiência de beleza e tranquilidade. Excelente para relaxar.
Relaxante. A jogabilidade é um pouco atrapalhada, mas é um jogo bonito e nos transmite a sensação de estar dentro de um quadro, um imaginário distante.
I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. Very easy to get 100% achievements and I loved flying around the world collecting everything and taking photos. Such beautiful landscape and really easy to control the butterfly. Found it really relaxing but still interesting for such a simple game.
A charming game with delightful graphics and soothing music. It may take some time to adjust to the flying mechanics, especially if you're used to inverted controls like me, leading to occasional crashes. The world feels a bit constrained at times due to invisible walls, but considering the price, it's a worthwhile and recommended experience.
So I did manage to play this on SteamOS, which while not flawless, still worked fairly well. Listening to the music and coasting around as a butterfly is fun at times, and the different wing and body skins were cute to find - including identifying what butterflies they were based on. However the Photograph Five Humans achievement was bugged for me - the woman raking near the base of the temple pathway wouldn't register no matter the resets of counts or restarts of game or handheld system, so I stopped attempting to get that achievement. I've also tried playing with keyboard and mouse, which was a little smoother before I got the hang of it on controller. Either way, a playable game with a neat area to flap and float around, in perpetual joy that no birds, fish, or frogs ever try to eat you!
