Game looks nothing like the trailers here on steam, looks more like a bad ps3 game.
This game is beyond dead, these devs have promised so much ♥♥♥♥ YEARS AGO. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS SLOP. Constant radio silence from developers, severe lack of content, poorly reworked skill system that relies too heavily on magazines, no unique or new fun features that improve gameplay and make it feel less stale, early game night time drags far too much, and now a chicken update because we all wanted that. Nobody gives 10 flying ♥♥♥♥♥ about a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ chicken update. There are literal ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bandits in the super old betas from ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 2014, how have we failed the roadmap THIS HARD, HOW do these devs keep getting away with promising ♥♥♥♥ and then never ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ adding it. Ive owned the game for too long and played too much to refund it, but for the love of god remove this game from your steam account and hold these developers accountable, they take your money and run. But hey they wanna lie to use and not give us promised content, they have the time to make a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ chicken update but not bandits promised 2+ years ago????? HOW any of this is acceptable is beyond me, this company deserves failure. These devs do not deserve support, they do not deserve a cent of your money, refund or remove the game.
Nah
After 1,200 hours, I simply cannot recommend this game. It has gone through so many changes over the years that it feels like it lost its way. It used to be a survival sandbox where you had the freedom to do what you want when you wanted to. Now it feels like a grind to appease traders and get skill books.
7 Days to Die is being bled dry by its own developers. This used to be a passion project. Now it's a monetization machine. Every update is an excuse to shove another paid bundle, another cosmetic pack, another "limited time" offer in your face. The base game — the thing you actually paid for — gets patched with bugs, performance drops, and half-finished features while the store page gets polished to a mirror shine. The devs have made it clear they don't need your feedback. They need your wallet. The community has begged for fixes, for balance, for respect. What we get is a new DLC announcement and a shrug. I sunk hundreds of hours into this game. Watching it rot from the inside while the people in charge cash out is genuinely depressing. Don't buy this. Don't support this. Let them feel it. Not recommended.
Fun game - used to be more fun - could be so much better.... if the devs actually cared about their fanbase or the content creators that work tirelessly to both generate new interest and breathe new life into play styles.
Ok so I see, that i Havent given an opinion on the game before, so I will today. I feel cheated, and stolen from. The game that was promised to us on kickstarter, and then in early access got changed into this C.R.A.P...\ From an open world survival sandbox with great minecraft esq building to this... thing? I honestly dont know who enjoys having to level up "looting skill" to magically find better items in a gun safe. Any realism got lost after alfa 16, and what we loved about the game got lost, beacuse of the developrs' unjustified ego... and the obvious cash grab with changing the game to cater to a new crowd, as well as.... SKINS in a single player game ( because lets be real, as much as they tried being rust, the game never could manage more than a friend group on a server) , where different outfits should just be part of the base game... wow Honestly its wild that these practices are legal, because there is one ting just abandoning an early acces game... but to use money from a kicksstarter of people who got promised something, just to make a different game to make money off a different group of people is just wild
Instead of making the game better, this company is trying to sue content creators.
Used to be a fun game, but I can't in good faith support developers who openly us gen AI for assets. :/
10 Years ago this game was great, open world where you get to decide how to survive and endure a fun and challenging landscape. The progression made sense and the crafting was fun. Now this game has been transformed into some of the worst, boring and cruel gameplay I have ever seen. I don't know what the developers were thinking when they decided to throw away everything that made this game fun and unique. Those elements have now been replaced with a specific game design that is exactly how the dev wants you to play. There is no room for creativity. In order to progress in this game you now have to run around an enormous map looking for magazines. Want to craft a workbench to maybe craft better items, go find a bunch of forge ahead magazines. Did that and now you want to make better armor, better go find more magazines to unlock the recipes. All your time spent in this game is going to be looking for magazine after magazine just to be able to craft and do anything. The zombies are just a side distraction to delay you from finding your next magazine. Before you used to be able to craft armor and weapons in a progression that made sense, starting with weak armor and finding material to make stronger better weapons and armor. The developers thought that was too fun and instead now you get to just find magazines! To make things even more dull and boring instead of spending your time looting and exploring interesting locations and finding loot the best way to get anything done now is to grind jobs from a trader. So you take a job, go to a location kill zombies or recover supplies, return to the trader get a small pathic reward. Take the next job, then after a couple of jobs the locations repeat so you will end up going to the same locations over and over getting almost nothing of value other than MORE MAGAZINES! The grind is so mundane and boring and repetitive. I honestly don't know what mindset someone has to be in to design this and think its fun. Finally the most insulting and sad part of the game is the 7th night. It used to be something you dreaded out of fear and anticipation that you didn't have enough time to prep or build up your defenses. The 7th night hordes were fun and terrifying. Now its just a boring slog as you wait for each painful minute to tick by until day comes and you can go back to looking for more magazines. No longer do you need to build a strong fortified base, just build a tower and a death pit and you can go AFK until morning. The AI for the zombies is broken and easily abused. The 7th night is now a chore and inconvenience and is just something to delay you from finding magazines. I don't know how someone can work on something for over 10 years and it ends up worse than when it first released. There are so many better zombie games you can play then 7Days2FindMagazines.
