this is a masterpiece
It´s a good building and creating tool until you have to pay to use the majority of the assets. 4.4/10
I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiments expressed in another review regarding the restrictive nature of the 100-block limitation in this game. It undeniably hinders our ability to fully explore and appreciate the creative potential it offers. The concept itself is remarkably enjoyable, and I find myself drawn to its possibilities. However, I must confess that the pricing of the packs appears somewhat steep, particularly considering the game's relative newness and lack of an established reputation. To truly flourish, the game would benefit from the addition of more diverse elements and features, which would undoubtedly enhance the overall experience. Nonetheless, I do recognize the game's promising aspects, and it has undeniably captured my interest. Now, regarding the promotional aspect of the game, I have personally been enjoying it freely, as I assume many others have as well. Perhaps, to cater to a specific audience, the developers could consider creating a separate game solely dedicated to designing cities without the necessity of an educational aspect. This could potentially cater to a broader range of players and provide a unique experience for those who prefer pure city designing without constraints.
Do I even rate this
So normally I don't go around and rate tools used to make things on steam, however, this is a little more than just a tool.. seeing as the project can be worked on online, and tested by players while online, both in VR and out. By that measure, I'd judge minecraft on the same style of merits. However, For a much cheaper rate, and some free upgrades, I could get a lot more work out of minecraft than in this game/simulation/tool. This free version is pretty useless. 100 blocks gets eaten up real friggin quick. And all the tutorials on how to use this are already free online. Meaning the payed for DLC unlock you the ability to actually use the product. Which I feel is quite deceitful. Luckily, unlike most ♥♥♥♥♥ that pull this style of payment meathod. You do not have upkeep costs. Meaning, that 1 payment is actually a 1 time payment. However, like with learning to program. You could start off on something like "Alice" or you can just go into the free C++ or higher learning, instead of wasting your time and getting comfortable with a less prevalent and more restrictive programming system.
But Legos
I don't know if this is the official thing but it does have the tag LEGO, so I suppose that once again, if you don't want to spend money on Minecraft or use the free software from Unreal, then I guess this is what you're actually stuck with.
4Prot is not a game. Games contain meaningful gamelike interaction and game loops, which are absent in this software. Instead of being a game, 4Prot is a software application that is not free, you have to pay OVER ONE HUNDRED UNITED STATES DOLLARS to unlock the full application... and it's certainly not a game. This is a failed attempt to make yet another "VR metaverse", a basic sandpit that teachers are supposed to use to create multiuser environments for students to look at stuff. You know what doesn't have classrooms full of students with VR headsets? The planet fricken Earth. More than one hundred bucks worth of DLC for this garbage failed application that isn't even a game. Jesus wept. For those unfamiliar with what actually makes something a game, a "game loop" describes the interaction and feedback a gamer has when playing a game. Tetris, for example, has a game loop where a random block appears, the gamer interacts with the block to position it, and then the game decides if that finishes a row or not, increases the players score if any rows were completed, then gives the gamer another block to position. Counter-Strike has a game loop where a player seeks another player, tests their skill against that player by shooting them or being shot, the computer rewards the player if they win, and then if the player survives, they repeat that loop. There's no loop here, no true interactive feedback. It simply is not a game, it cannot be "played". This has misleadingly been launched in the "Games" section of Steam instead of the "Software" section. This is a common mistake for developers who are new to Steam, or don't understand the difference between games and software which isn't a game. It seems this software published incorrectly as a game is simply lack of experience/knowledge of the correct process. Here's a link for the process to publish non-game software on Steam: Steam Developer Help With Software Publishing It's unfortunate this process was not known about/followed, resulting in a software application being published in the wrong place. Publishing things which aren't games on Steam in the Games section as games is misleading to gamers and somewhat harmful, because it pollutes the Steam marketplace and takes away visibility and market exposure for genuine game developers who do the right thing and make games for gamers. There are no gameplay loops in this software, no "gameplay", no meaningful game like interaction. It's a software application and as such has no merits as a video game for gamers. Because of this, I cannot recommend this non-game software as a game to gamers.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
