First Impressions: A cute cat game where you find 101 cats hidden in Beijing. Gameplay: You are tasked with finding 101 cats hidden in a Beijing landscape. Every time a cat is found, they are colored in. There is no hint option but the majority of the cats should be easy to find. This game also offers zoom capabilities and the ability to adjust the brightness (if needed). There is a timer at the upper corner of the screen marking how long it takes to complete the game but it isn’t linked to any achievements. Music: It is not distracting and pleasant to listen to. TL;DR: This game is perfect for a cozy experience and short gaming session. However, some gamers might be frustrated if they are having difficulties in locating the remaining few cats since there is no hint option available. Would I recommend this?: Yes. Find 101 cats hidden in a mosaic of Beijing. Decent. Wish there was a bundle, though.

101 Cats in Beijing is a casual hidden-object puzzle game created and published by NaipSoft. As part of the developer’s ongoing “101 Cats” collection, the game continues the studio’s familiar formula of placing players inside a large illustrated environment and challenging them to locate a set number of cleverly concealed animals. The premise is intentionally minimalistic, but the appeal lies in the relaxing gameplay loop and the satisfaction that comes from gradually discovering every hidden cat within the scene. The core gameplay revolves around a single large hand-drawn environment inspired by the architecture and atmosphere of Beijing. Players are presented with an expansive illustrated cityscape filled with rooftops, lanterns, streets, and decorative elements that reflect the cultural identity of the location. Within this environment, 101 cats have been hidden among the various objects and structures. Some of them are immediately visible once the player begins scanning the image, while others are much more carefully disguised within the visual details of the artwork. At first, the search feels straightforward. Many cats are positioned in places where they stand out slightly from the background, allowing players to quickly locate a number of them within the opening minutes. However, as the number of remaining cats decreases, the puzzle gradually becomes more challenging. The final animals are often hidden in subtle positions where their outlines blend into the surrounding environment. A cat might be disguised within the shape of a rooftop decoration or tucked behind architectural details, forcing players to examine the illustration closely. Because the game features only one large scene, solving the puzzle becomes an exercise in methodical observation. Players often begin by scanning the environment casually, but as the puzzle progresses they may adopt more systematic strategies, such as moving across the map section by section. The process of carefully searching every corner of the illustration creates a surprisingly engaging challenge, especially when only a handful of cats remain to be discovered. The art style plays a major role in making the experience enjoyable. The Beijing environment is illustrated with a bright and colorful aesthetic that gives the city a lively appearance. Buildings, lanterns, and decorative patterns fill the scene, creating a visually rich environment that feels both detailed and approachable. The cats themselves are drawn in a simple cartoon style that fits naturally within the environment while still being recognizable once spotted. This balance between camouflage and visibility is crucial for maintaining the puzzle’s challenge without making it frustrating. Another thoughtful element of the design is the inclusion of zoom functionality. Players can magnify different sections of the illustration in order to inspect small details more closely. This feature becomes particularly helpful when searching crowded areas where architectural decorations or overlapping objects might hide a cat. The ability to zoom prevents the puzzle from becoming visually overwhelming and allows players to approach the search with greater precision. The game’s sound design complements the relaxed nature of the gameplay. Gentle background music plays while the player searches the environment, creating a calm and cozy atmosphere. The soundtrack is intentionally subtle and unobtrusive, allowing players to focus on the puzzle without distraction. Small sound effects accompany the discovery of each cat, providing a satisfying auditory confirmation whenever another hidden animal is found. Accessibility is another strength of 101 Cats in Beijing. The controls are simple—players only need to move the cursor across the image and click on cats when they are discovered. There are no complex mechanics or tutorials required, making the game easy for anyone to pick up and play. This straightforward design makes it particularly appealing for casual players who want a relaxing puzzle experience without having to learn complicated systems. However, the simplicity that defines the game also limits its depth. Because the entire experience revolves around locating objects within a single scene, the gameplay loop remains largely unchanged from start to finish. Players who prefer puzzle games with evolving mechanics or layered systems may find the experience somewhat repetitive. Additionally, the relatively small scope means that most players will complete the puzzle within a short period of time. Despite these limitations, the game succeeds in delivering a satisfying hidden-object experience. The careful placement of each cat ensures that the puzzle remains engaging without becoming overly difficult. The moment when the final hidden cat is discovered often feels surprisingly rewarding, as players realize how thoroughly they have explored the environment. The game also benefits from its position within a broader series. NaipSoft has created multiple entries that feature different cities and themes, meaning players who enjoy this particular installment can easily move on to other games in the collection. Each title maintains the same core gameplay but introduces a new environment filled with unique visual details. Ultimately, 101 Cats in Beijing excels as a small and relaxing puzzle designed for short play sessions. Its charming artwork, accessible mechanics, and satisfying hidden-object challenge make it a pleasant experience for players who enjoy visual puzzles. While it may not offer extensive replay value or complex gameplay systems, it fulfills its purpose as a cozy and entertaining diversion. Rating: 7/10
Typical for this developer: * Every cat has it's own name, the name pops in the game and also as an achievement * Same music as in previous games (change it, please ;-;) * Identical style: artwork itself is drawn very bold-like, and cats are drawn with a pencil (thin lines) + Had special music when finishing the game. Time to 100%: 6 minutes.
101 CATS HIDDEN IN BEIJING
Relaxing and funny game where you just need to find 101 hidden cats. Once you find them all, you just completed the whole game. Sounds easy right? Some cats are really tough to find but you will figure it out. If you are missing some and can not find them, just take a look at my guide. :) Overall it is a good game to decompress. If you have good eyes for seeking it will take you about 15 minutes to 30 minutes at maximum. Also you will get easily 100 achievements. GL & HF.
A simple hidden objects game
