[b]Note:[/b] A wonderful friend gifted me a copy of this game. ^^ [h1]Welcome to the Land Down Under! :D[/h1] [i]101 Cats Hidden in Australia[/i] is a cozy, cute, cat-themed hidden object game developed and published by NaipSoft. So far, these cute cats have been to many places around the world, and this time, we find them in Australia, most likely in Sydney. As it tends to be the case with these games, the objective is to find on all these cute kitties hidden around the city. With the gameplay, you click on the kitties with the left mouse button and you can zoom in and out of the scene either by using the mouse wheel or scrolling the zoom meter that's on the bottom left screen. Also, the screen's brightness can be adjusted by scrolling the brightness meter found on the bottom left screen. A count of all the kitties to find is at the bottom of the screen, and after you find all of them, a record is kept of how long it took to find them all. Of course, there are lots of Steam achievements, but they won't count towards a user's global total until the game is out of "Steam is learning about this game". Although I haven't been playing these HOGs as often as before, I still love playing them, especially when I'm in the mood for a game that'll cheer me up, like these cat-themed games tend to do. Having played and enjoyed a couple of other games in the series, I wanted to give [i]101 Cats Hidden in Australia[/i] a try. The gameplay is fun as usual. The kitties are quite easy to find, especially if you use the zoom function. Also, adjusting the game's brightness helps since seeing a very white background can feel glaring. Obtaining all of the Steam achievements is very doable on a first playthrough, and I love how each achievement has an individual kitty's name tied to it. The only technical issue I encountered is one that I've commented on before with the other games I've played and reviewed. When you click on the check button to exit out of the scene after finding all of the kitties, the loading bar freezes. Now I don't know if the devs are reading reviews, but I do wish that this problem would be fixed. I don't mind if the game is only playable in full screen mode since that's more of a personal preference, but loading problems is a bit unacceptable. Regarding the art, I like the hand drawn style. It can feel similar to some other similar cat-themed HOGs, but I don't mind it. The background and cat sprites are drawn well, and the cats are colored in a sweet orange when you click on them. Thus, there isn't really variety, but I think that's ok since the main aspect of these games is the gameplay and the cute kitties. Still, it would have been nice if the track had been themed based on the location, such as a track that's appropriate for Australia. Overall, would I recommend [i]101 Cats Hidden in Australia[/i]? If you're into short, cat-themed hidden object games, you want to find cats in Australia (I know that's very specific lol), and/or you want to get all those Steam achievements, then this is worth checking out. Despite the loading issue I experienced, the gameplay is fun and relaxing, and I liked that I was able to find all the kitties fairly quickly. Риссовка средненькая (слишком много полос и линий режет глаз), сами коты нарисованы крайне криво и не вписываются в рисовку локации. В целом играть можно. Скорее лайк, чем дизлайк... 101 Cats Hidden in Los Angeles is a fun hidden object game that I play with my granddaughter. She loves it!
